Delicious Pancakes recipe with orange syrup


2 tbsp softened butter
¼ tsp grated orange rind
¾ tsp orange juice (fresh)
¾ cup wheat flour
¾ cup all purpose flour
2 tbsp sugar
1/2 tsp baking soda
11/2 tsp baking powder
3/8 tsp salt
11/2 cup low-fat milk
¼ cup orange juice (fresh)
1 tbsp canola oil
1 egg
1 egg white
Cooking spray
¾ cup maple syrup


      ·         Mix together the butter, grated orange rind and fresh orange juice.

·         Mix together the flours, sugar, baking soda, salt and baking powder in a large bowl.
·         Mix together the milk, orange juice, oil and I egg in a small bowl.
·         Take the flour mixture and mix together with the milk mixture in one bowl, stirring until it becomes moist. Leave the mixture to stand for about 15 minutes.
·         Beat the egg white in a medium bowl to form medium peaks.
·         Tenderly fold the beaten egg white into the batter.
·         Preheat the pan to medium heat and ensure that you coat it with the cooking spray.
·         Use a spoon to add butter to the pan and cook for 3 minutes or until the bottom turns brown. Turn the pancake and cook the top side for another 3 minutes or until it is cooked properly.
·         Serve the pancakes with orange syrup and butter.
