Sponge Cake Recipe


This cake serves: 12 

300gms caster sugar
5 fresh eggs
350gms self raising baking flour
300gms butter or margarine
40mls milk


·         Pre-heat the oven to 300 degree F
·         Grease an 8inc round or square baking tin using butter or margarine.
·         Take a large mixing bowl and sieve the flour, add all the ingredients and use a mixer at medium speed until the ingredients are properly blended. Increase the speed of the mixer for about 2 minutes until the batter is smooth.
·         Pour the mixture in the baking pan and set it on the middle of the oven to bake for 1 hour 30 minutes. Use a tooth pick or skewer to check the cake. If it comes out clean, then the cake is ready.
·         Remove it and place on a wire rack to cool.
