Vegan chocolate cake recipe





Required Ingredients

·         200gms wheat flour (whole) leveled
·         30gms cocoa powder
·         1 tsp baking powder
·         ½ tsp salt
·         150gms sugar
·         250mls water
·         65mls Butter (melted) or oil
·         ¾  tbsp lime fruit juice
·         1/3 tsp vanilla powder
·         Icing ingredients:
·         200 mls cream (chilled)
·         6 tbsps icing sugar
·         4 tbsp sliced red cherries
·         8 tbsp chocolate (grated)
·         2 tsps cherry syrup
·         Around 10 pcs whole cherries to be used for decoration – you can use more as required
·         chocolate shavings also for decoration

Baking Method:

1.      Grease a baking pan 9 inches diameter with oil.
2.      Preheat the oven to 250 degrees.
3.      In a bowl, sieve the wheat flour, cocoa powder, salt, baking powder and cocoa powder.
4.      In a separate bowl, take the sugar and add the cold water, stir until the sugar is dissolved.
5.      Add the melted butter or oil as you stir to ensure that the whole lot is mixed properly.
6.      Add the lime fruit juice and continue to stir.
7.      Then add the vanilla powder.
8.      After this, you can now put in the sieved water-less items to the damp mixture. Use a blender to mix everything properly, ensuring that the batter must be thin without any lumps at all.
9.      Transfer the vegan chocolate cake batter into the greased baking pan.
10.  Put the batter into the preheated oven and bake for 40 to 45mins.
11.  Make use of tooth pick to check whether the vegan chocolate cake is ready. Set it on the wired stand to cool.

Method of Icing:

1.      Slice the top side of the vegan chocolate cake carefully using a big knife.
2.      Take out the top half of the cake and place it aside. The bottom half of the cake should face up wards. Cover the two pieces as you set up the cream for icing.
3.      Get an electric mixer and add the icing sugar and chilled cream. Mix using the maximum speed until the mixture becomes stiff.
4.      Add a little sugar syrup evenly on the vegan chocolate cake.
5.      Using spatula apply around 1/4 of the beaten cream spreading it evenly.
6.      It is now time to add a coat of sliced red cherries as you add the chocolate (grated) on top.
7.      Take the other half of the vegan chocolate cake and place it on top.
8.      On top of the cake, apply a little cream uniformly. Not forgetting the sides as well. You can use a cake stand or a plate.
9.      Put the beaten cream that was remaining in a tube and make use of a decorative syringe. Decorate the vegan chocolate cake using the cream in the tube.
10.  Take the whole cherries and place them on top of the cake. Add as many as you wish to make the cake look neat
11.  Take the grated chocolate and sprinkle it all over the cake, including the sides. You may also add a little chocolate shaving on the top.
12.  Use a big bowl to cover up the vegan chocolate cake, ensuring that it does not touch the sides.
13.  Put the cake inside the fridge for 3 hours or for the night so that cream icing can set.
14.  Once cream icing has hardened properly, it is now time to cut and eat the vegan chocolate cake.
