18 Layer Red Velvet Cake Recipe

Baking this cake is quite effortless, and the results are dazzling. Below is the red velvet cake recipe that you must use to come up with the yummiest cake ever. Ingredients

White Cake

1 box white cake mix
11/4 cup water
3 eggs
1/3 cup cooking oil

Red Velvet Cake

1 box chocolate cake mix
2 tsp baking cocoa (unsweetened)
½ cup cooking oil
3 eggs
2 tsp red food color (liquid)

Frosting

11/2 cups softened butter
2 tbsp milk
21/2 cups marshmallow creme
41/2 cups sugar (powdered
1 tsp vanilla

Instructions

·        Heat the oven to 350 degrees F. Take 3 x 8 inch baking pans and grease. Use a parchment paper to line at the bottom and spray with cooking spray.
In a mixing bowl, pour all the white cake ingredients and beat at low speed for around 30 seconds. On medium speed, beat for a further 2 minutes. Cover the mixture and refrigerate.
·        In another large bowl, pour the red velvet cake ingredients and beat at low speed for around 30 seconds. On medium speed, beat for a further 2 minutes.
·        On the bottom of each of the 3 pans, spread ½ cup red velvet cake batter. Cover loosely and put the remaining batter in the refrigerator. Put the 3 pans on the rack at the center of the oven and bake for 8 minutes.
·        For the following cake layer, spread ½ cup of the white cake batter consistently on each of the already baked red velvet layer.  Put the 3 pans on the rack at the center of the oven and bake for 8 to 10 minutes.
·        Keep repeating the steps above, baking for 8 to 10 minutes per layer. Let the cakes cool for 10 minutes, and then remove from pan. Leave to cool completely for around half an hour.
·        In a medium bowl, using an electric mixer at medium speed, mix the vanilla, marshmallow creme, 1 tbsp milk, and butter until its mixed together. Add powdered sugar until it becomes soft.

·       Assemble the red velvet cake by stacking cake layers and spreading ½ cup frosting in between each layer. Apply a thin frosting layer over the side and top of cake to seal crumbs. Put in the refrigerator for 45 minutes and set frosting. Apply the remaining frosting on top and sides of the cake.
